Do you like BBQ?
Justin and I are always on the prowl for good bbq. Our favorite spots are locally-owned, small spots where they run out of food because it’s so dang good, and well, they only make enough for the day at hand. Jim’s Smokin’ Que is a little bit of a drive through the hills going west toward Blairsville from Clayton, but worth every mile you travel to get there. And, the drive is pretty.
Everything is homemade which you can tell from the first bite. We recommend the pulled pork and beef brisket, but truly, any meat there will melt in your mouth. Don’t make the mistake of not ordering the cheddar gouda cheese grits. Holy cow.
Jim’s is only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11am to 8pm. It’s a good idea to not wait until closing to show up for dinner. If you walk in and the “WE’RE OUT OF” sign is blank, you know you’re in good shape. They have indoor and outdoor seating.
